I can be pretty sappy about certain things. I come from a family of criers, so I come by it naturally. To wit:
Me: So when are we going?
(I am being all Noel Coward and witty.)
K: Going where?
Me: To China. Because there's a little girl (here I start bawling right in the middle of the restaurant) named (SOB) Ze (SOB SOB) Guo (SOB SOB) over there (SOB) who is waiting (SOB) for us to come (SOB) and get her. (SOB SOB SOB SOB SOB)
K: Stop it. You're making me cry too.
I WAS trying to be funny at first. And then it hit me again. There IS a little girl over there and she is ours now and she is waiting for us to come and get her! Another wait. Grrrrrr.
