I have a good friend K. She is going through a really lousy time. Having just lost her father after a long illness she is currently watching another person she loves die a lingering, ungraceful, painful death.
K. and I are a lot alike. We struggle with similar issues. We have similar senses of humor. We have a mutual admiration society. We are both good at beating ourselves up and assuming that everyone feels the same way about us as we do. Thankfully that is rarely the case. We have both made our share of big mistakes in life. We can both laugh at ourselves, and at the small absurdities of each day.
K. I want you to know that I love you. I am worried about you. I was serious about sitting at the hospital with you if it would make things any better. I can sit in your pain with you. I can ramble on about things that don't matter. I can go deep into the depression if you want. I can crack corny jokes. I can cry with you. I can trash talk with you. I hope one of those things will help you to feel less alone.
I believe in you. Please try to remember that when you are feeling low or trapped or sad or hopeless. I believe in you. You are strong, and you will get through this, and some day you will feel hopeful.
And thank you. Thank you for being my friend. I am grateful for the friendship, grateful for you.

Thank you D. Your empathy means a lot.
K.
I love you as well K. You are a sweet, loving, kind, giving person who amoung many countless things climbs up on roofs, rescues animals, digs up day lilies for friends saying they should never have to buy them from the garden center and you do not deserve to be hurting the way you are. When bad things do happen to good people we also find out some good things, I hope you can take these good things and feel strong and worthy because you are.
A & Debi you are both beautiful also and I am thankful for knowing you all.
Love, Dor
