I like texting. There, I've said it. I didn't want to like it. In fact, I didn't send my first text message until sometime early this year. March? April? I thought, what's the fuss? I thought, good lord we have our phones with us 24/7 now, how could we need texting too? I thought, texting is for teenagers, and I'm too old for that. I thought, it's just one more way that people are wasting time at work and being rude. Then I sent my very first txt to my BFF. I was immediately smitten.
Texting is fun. K. laughs at me. He says I am like a teenager with my texting. He doesn't get it. I send him one or two texts during the day to let him know we are thinking about him and we miss him. He ignores them. Usually I text him a picture too.
The camera. On my iPhone. I love it too. The pictures are generally blurry and overexposed but I am undeniably devoted to them.
I'm not going anywhere with this. Just confessional. I love my iPhone, I love its crappity little camera, and I love texting.
Good night.

I used to feel the same way about texting. Then, about a month ago a co-worker started texting me and I returned her texts. Now I love it. So much easier than talking on the phone. I'm not that good on the phone. Those pictures are actually pretty good!
Posted by: Michelle at November 3, 2007 11:48 PMI want an iphone. Except I drop my phone every day, so I only get the free phones. I just got my first color screen. I'm years away from a camera in my phone.
Posted by: Courtney at November 4, 2007 1:49 AMYou are killing me with the cuteness.
I love texting. My phone contract is 3 minutes (not really) of calling and 3000 texts (yes really)per month. And with pictures! And there's my mother, who doesn't sleep, and texts me in the middle of the night. Or Charlie, texting me at 3am from LA or somewhere.
I'm right there with you. I love that my iPhone has the camera. I'm constantly emailing pictures to my mom and I couldn't live without the texting. I hate talking on the phone, but texting? Love it!
Posted by: baggage at November 4, 2007 1:22 PMI'm laughing because I just had this conversation-sort of-with a much younger friend back in Mpls. She said "I'll just text it to you" and I said um, who do you think you're talking to? She decided to email whatever it was.
I almost missed a party back in May because another friend sent the invite as a text message... ~lmc
I still don't get the texting. And I'm stuck because I don't think there's any free texting on my phone plan. I should get Jo's plan because I only use the phone for talking about 5 minutes a month.
Posted by: Sister Carrie at November 4, 2007 10:07 PMI love my iphone too. Love it. It makes texting that much easier. and fun. with it's little chat bubbles. really, how could one not text? And that gnome-ish hat is awesome.
