I am an amatuer with a kickin' camera. I love photography and my Nikon D70 even though I leave it on auto far too much. (Actually portrait is my very favorite auto setting. I am all about shortening the depth of field.) I am taking an online basic photography course online this fall from BetterPhoto.com. I am simultaneously excited and terrified. What if my photos are all terrible? Eeek. Some day I would love to have a photography mentor, but for now I will take some classes and get some skillz.
I love to travel. Even if I am never a great photographer I want the skills to be able to take the photos I want when we travel. I live in the burbs, have two kids, and am still holding out on the whole minivan issue. Some days I wish I lived somewhere super cool like New York where I could walk out the door and find something interesting to photograph in one second. However I also believe in finding the beauty in everyday life and I like the challenge of trying to see my world with new eyes.
