My Feb Craft is LATE

Ok, so I was late finishing my February craft. I had one idea which I then decided was too hard and too complicated and I moved on to something else and then we went on vacation and then we got home and everyone was sick and I was very busy and now it is March 12. Huh.

Some days my heart feels too vulnerable, and I need to send it away for a bit to protect it.

I send it down to the bottom of the sea to stay with a friendly clam.

He is always happy to guard it for me. His own heart is too small, and my giant people heart is so strong that he grows and grows.

Occasionally I have to wrestle it back, but we always laugh about it afterwards.

Ok, this month was a bust. It was good if I wanted to learn something, which I did. I learned a lot, such as:
1. Even though I carefully made the front and the back of the heart the same size and lined them up a million times, when I sewed them together they were misaligned and the heart looks bad on the bottom.
2. Sewing wire in between two pieces of thin cotton isn't all that fun.
3. 20 ga wire is too thick.
4. Expending time and energy on sewing the wire is no guarantee that the clam will actually be shape-able once finished.

So there you have it. A big bust, but a learning experience. I actually enjoyed it when I wasn't wrestling with the wire, string, and sewing machine all at once.

Next month I am doing something easier. Pinky swear.

This is amazing! Oh my gosh! So cute! With the clam! How ever did you think of it?

I don't think it was a bust at all! I really like the clam. I think this was a clever way to approach this project. I can't wait to see what you do next.
